Maintenance

Avenger Flight Group, a provider to airline pilot training, is rapidly expanding in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and is in need of a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist for their Dallas/ Ft. Worth Training Centers.

The right candidate will be responsible for helping to establish an inventory. From time to time, shipping components out to our other training centers and to manufacturers will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision from a supervisor or manager, primary tasks will include (but not limited to):
    • As parts and components are received, ensure that they are tracked and recorded in our inventory software, and communication is made to relevant parties (i.e. technicians for installation and test)
    • Develop locations for new parts/spares, and clearly label them and record the locations in the electronic software
    • Advise if certain components fall below a critical level, and advise of reordering requirements
  • Periodically perform an audit of all Spares to ensure accuracy
  • Provides routine management data regarding inventory performance, which involves evaluating and monitoring usage and cost of components, supplies, and tooling
  • Periodically organize and maintain the inventory floor area to ensure efficient material, components, and tooling handling.
  • Suggest improvements to the inventory control process.
  • Become a subject matter expert on component location for quick access, as it is important in our industry to find and install components very quickly to minimize downtime of devices to customers.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties, which are work-related, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess high school diploma
  • Associates degree or higher in Logistics or Procurement preferred
  • Excellent problem solving skills and detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Relevant professional qualifications or suitable background experience in controlling inventory and purchasing (Materials Requirements Planning - MRP), preferred 2-3 years experience
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with cross functional teams
  • Generally work 4 10 hour days (off on Fridays), but flexibility to work additional as needed, including weekends
  • Able to lift and carry 50 pounds, and operate a pallet jack

Avenger Flight Group, an innovative Simulation provider to airline pilot training customers, is rapidly expanding in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, and is in need of a dedicated Backups/IT Specialist for their large collection of full flight simulators at two TX centers.

 

These Full Flight Simulators operate on a number of PCs across a variety of Operating Systems that require frequent backups of their local hard drives; the right candidate will be self-motivated to understand the tasks and role, have attention to detail, and be creative enough to suggest improvements.

 

Occasional IT troubleshooting on the state-of-the-art Simulation Systems would also be required, in conjunction with the Simulator Technician staff already onsite.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain records of current states of backups, performing backups of all related and required computer systems on the Flight Simulators
  • Handling the installation, configuration and administration of the simulator backup systems including backup administration; backup management; RTO/RPO goals and compliance; Backup Monitoring; Maintenance
  • Installing equipment and relocation as required
  • Troubleshooting hardware and/or software
  • Analyzing specific backup requirements
  • Developing and ensuring maintenance of the inventory and database of all backups and backup media, software, equipment and parts
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of appropriate data and systems
  • Maintaining technical competence through reading, education, conferences, etc.
  • Developing internal standards such as SOPs and maintaining documentation of the infrastructure environment

Skills Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years in an IT focused position preferred

Simulator Technicians are responsible for the smooth day to day operations of flight training devices. They are responsible for the daily maintenance and upkeep of complex computer systems and critical hardware used by pilots and flight crew. Technicians often act as the first line of defence when a trouble call comes in from a customer.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform complex, but standard technical tasks including diagnostic, preventive, and corrective maintenance
  • Utilize QMS to record and track maintenance activities
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks to ensure operational status
  • Perform visual alignments
  • Run QTG tests and evaluate the results
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications
  • Exercise initiative in applying and adapting procedures to address both regular and unusual problems with the training devices and associated systems
  • Communicate with customers in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

Avenger Flight Group (AFG) is seeking an Apprentice Simulator Maintenance Technician to join our growing company at our largest Flight Training Center, located in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. Applicants MUST have some aviation experience and/or education, and live locally. Candidates may be enrolled in a college or technical school for aviation or avionics. Additional preference will be given to those with a minimum of a student pilot's license, avionics experience, or veteran status. There is opportunity for rapid career advancement for the right individual. Please note this is an entry-level job, and experienced Sim Techs need not apply.

The Apprentice Sim Tech will assist our Sim Techs in providing the highest level of customer service to our clients. Sim Techs are responsible for monitoring and repairing a variety of simulator-specific computer and visual systems, troubleshooting electronic equipment, and returning to service all simulator equipment using a broad knowledge base.

Apprentice Sim Tech duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Interact with customers in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
