Maintenance
A Flight Simulator Technician I is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing flight simulators. This includes electronics, avionics, computers, visual systems, and motion systems. A Sim Tech I must have the ability to resolve problems, using a broad knowledge base and maintenance manuals, so all Flight Training Devices either can remain in-service or return to service after a failure. They also must have good communication skills and interact with customers. All qualified applicants will be trained on the location’s specific devices.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Learn and perform complex, but standard technical tasks including preventative and corrective maintenance. This includes cleaning, diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, validating, or replacing flight simulator components with little to no assistance.
- Interact with customers in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support during simulator sessions.
- Utilize our quality management system to record and track maintenance activities.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight tasks on the simulators as well as power-up and power-down procedures as required.
- Perform visual alignments and adjustments.
- Run QTG tests and evaluate the results.
- Perform routine computer maintenance, hardware fault diagnosis and repair.
- Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic components.
- Conduct logistics duties, such as maintaining inventory, assisting in repair, and testing of equipment.
- Trained Sim Techs will provide training and guidance to other technicians and apprentices.
- Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned when certain circumstances permit.
Required Qualifications:
- 2-year technical degree or 1 to 2 years of simulator related experience.
- 2 to 3 years of aircraft or simulator-related experience is preferable, alternative experience in Electronics, Avionics, or Computer Technology will be highly considered.
- Proficiency in the use of various types of test equipment and hand/special tools, such as multimeter and oscilloscope.
- Proficiency in the use of various types of test equipment and hand/special tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Experience in basic troubleshooting to system level.
- Experienced in using schematics and electronic diagnostic utilities.
- Familiarity with avionics and navigational concepts and their correspondence with the flight simulators.
- Familiarity with electrical concepts such as analog and digital theory.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Proficient in soldering and circuit repairs
- Ability to perform computer and network maintenance.
- Capable of working with different computer operating system types.
- Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and work any shift in a 24x7 operation.

Avenger Flight Group, a leading Flight Training service provider to the airline-pilot training industry, is rapidly expanding in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and is in need of a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist for their DFW Training Centers.
The right candidate will be responsible for helping to establish an inventory management system for spare parts and documentation. The specialist will be responsible to conduct periodic audits ensuring critical spares are available. The specialist will be required to work with a cross functional team to identify parts requirements. Occasional shipping of components out to our other training centers and to manufacturers will be required.
Job Responsibilities:
Under general supervision from a supervisor or manager, primary tasks include (but are not limited to):
- As parts and components are received, ensure that they are tracked and recorded in our inventory software, and communication is made to relevant parties (i.e., technicians for installation and test)
- Develop locations for new parts/spares, and clearly label them and record the locations in the electronic software
- Advise if certain components fall below a critical level, and advise of reordering requirements
- Periodically perform an audit of all spares to ensure accuracy
- Provides routine management data regarding inventory performance, which involves evaluating and monitoring usage and cost of components, supplies, and tooling
- Periodically organize and maintain the inventory floor area to ensure efficient material, components, and tooling handling
- Suggest improvements to the inventory control process
- Become a subject matter expert on component location for quick access, as it is important in our industry to find and install components very quickly to minimize customer downtime of devices
- Perform miscellaneous work-related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Must possess high school diploma at a minimum
- Associates degree or higher in Logistics or Procurement preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Relevant professional qualifications or suitable background experience in controlling inventory and purchasing (Materials Requirements Planning - MRP), preferred 2-3 years’ experience
- Proficient computer skills, including experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with cross functional teams
- Generally work four 10-hour days (off on Fridays), but flexibility to work additional as needed, including weekends
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds, and operate a pallet jack
